Hi, everyone! Hope you’re all having a good start to the week! Er, I know it’s Sunday and many of us would rather hide snugly under the warmth and comfort of our duvets or sunning on the beach with a quota of pina colada and in a company of a good book, but hey, you’re alive today and that is something to be immensely grateful for! Also, let us all spare a moment to thank God for the people who discovered coffee… I’m enjoying an extra hot cuppa joe right now as I type this down. Hmm.
Some of you who have been following my blog posts for a while now will have noted my occasional rants about how busy my boyfriend photographer is. Our schedules rarely seem to mesh and for the few times it did, we only got to enjoy a couple or so precious hours together. There was no definite meet up set for both of us yesterday, so when he rang me early in the morning to say that he would be free from 7PM and that we could squeeze in a bit of time for a shoot before having dinner, you can imagine that I was doing somersaults over the moon and, gurl, ah was shakin’-mah-booty! I jumped out of bed like a streak of lightning and rummaged through my closet like a hungry monster looking for a giant cookie! Several clothes thrown here and there later, I finally found the perfect outfit for our date night.
I follow a thumb rule in dressing up for a casual date – keep it simple yet classy. To me, that means Wear Black. I chose a black top with batwing sleeves to match with my newly purchased culotte polka dot shorts. I then slipped into my favourite sandal heels – a pair so versatile, sexy and perfectly minimal that one could practically match it to any outfit. Many of you know that I’m not big on accessories so I just grabbed my black cross-body bag to complete the look. For the complete saturation of the whole package, I resorted to my usual eyeliner flicks and red lipstick.
The shoot was a challenge for both of us as it was our first time to shoot in low light conditions, Allan forgot to bring the most important tool of the night – the flash 😀 we were both dependent on the light scattered from the mall so I’m thrilled to see that the photos turned out just fine.
