Allan’s weekly calendar is almost always blocked off for photo/video shoots and on his shoot-free days, he’s always up against a deadline, whereas his girlfriend has huge chunks of free time for scheming and letting her ideas wander so she occasionally tags along in his shoots and no doubt gets caught in time watching her boyfie-tographer. Gasp!
When a lovely couple booked Allan to do a photoshoot at a park last Friday for their little boy who will be turning two in the next few weeks, I was hoping that they’d leave room for an extra person (you know, me!), so imagine my delight when they conceded the necessity of an assistant for the photographer! But when the golden hour fell upon us, I was struck with a moment of sentimentality as I watch the boy mill around the park as Allan takes photos of him. Many of you know that I’ve been on a fashion blogging sabbatical for many months, but now that it’s over, I’m feeling overwhelmingly positive about giving it another shot. At that time, however, I wasn’t OOTD-ready. I had a laid-back look on – my default combination of black top and white pants and matched it to a very minimalist pair of flats – sans hairstyle et make up, well except for a few swipes of mascara and a bit of lipstick. Allan knew what was hanging over my head and so in between shoots he would turn his camera on me which only meant one thing – pose for me, baby. HAHA!
