When stripes made a comeback on the SS16 runways, I started scouting shops for potential buys. This will come as a bit of a surprise to you but this certainly isn’t my first foray into spring/summer stripes. I remember back in my early 20s – oh my gosh, I can’t believe I’m old enough to use this phrase – one of the most well-curated collections I’ve ever come upon which was easy on the pocket was from ZARA. I owned a fine black and white striped shirt which I got a lot of wear out of until it gave up on me. I haven’t quite found the perfect replacement for it yet but when I spotted this navy-striped cropped top hanging on a lonely rack in Bershka, I knew it just had to come home with me. You have seen me wear it here. Given my current infatuation with anything backless, I love how it leaves a bit of room for my back to breathe after tying a knot in the back to secure the top in place. I picked out a midi-skirt from the back of my closet to pair it with and voila, I was all ready to frolic on the beach!
It was the perfect combo for a summer stroll through the beach. Allan and I had a free afternoon yesterday, and as usual, I used the opportunity to my advantage 😛 believe me, it was just a quick shoot.
