When Allan and I discovered a kitesurfing spot hidden behind an odd-looking mall late last year, I knew in an instant that I had found the thrill I always hankered after – you can read about it here.
An uncontrollable wave of excitement washed over me as I arranged a lesson with a kitesurfing trainer that we bumped into THAT DAY! I grew up not being physically active owing to the fact that I’m already too thin to shred off the few remaining pounds that make up most of my mass (less the bones, of course), so controlling a huge kite in blustery winds while keeping my balance is a challenge that I still face even after having completed 8 sessions into my training! My trainer, Kevin, recently took me to the water for a brief lesson on how to launch the kite up the air for instances such as when I fall off the board and into the sea… hate to admit that I still can’t do that quite well. But then, this is why I go for training every Saturday. If you have been following my random ramblings here, you would know that I spend most of my weekend – Saturdays, most specifically – on the beach.
My very talented boyfriend, Allan, stood in as a photographer during my recent training and produced amazing photos which I can’t wait to share with you!!! Eep! Scroll down!
